Day 3: The Meaning You Make

Bad story tellers make spells. Good story tellers break them.
— Martin Shaw

It’s story time!

I want you to write down the story you have been telling yourself about a recent circumstance or person.

Then, through a series of questions from Byron Katie’s “The Work,” we will examine and assess the validity and usefulness of that story.

Be honest and curious in your exploration. Be aware of any judgments that show up for you.

Day 3 journal prompts :

1) How does believing this story make you feel? How does it make you behave?

2) Is the story true? Is it absolutely true?

3) What are the benefits of believing this story? What are the costs?

4) Is there a more advantageous way to think about this? What would that be for you?
